Our packages are designed to match the diverse needs of the locations and clients we service. Kindy Transition Workshop

About

About this workshop:

This workshop is designed for parents who are supporting children moving from preschool and daycare into their first year of school. The workshop will cover:

  • The components of language
  • Why is language important for learning?
  • What language and social skills are required in the lead-up to kindergarten and the classroom?
  • What can we do as parents to develop our children’s language skills and get them ready for school?

Supporting Children with Communication Differences

About

This workshop is available to both parents and educators wanting to further their understanding and skills in supporting preschool and school aged children with communication differences. Our presenters combine their experience as allied health professionals, and trainings in neurodiverse affirming therapy approaches to ensure attendees are well equipped to nurture and advocate for their child’s communication preferences. Some of the topics we cover include:

  • Understanding my child’s communication profile using a strengths based approach
  • Moving beyond requesting. Understanding and appreciating communicative functions and modalities
  • Understanding and using total communication
  • Understanding and supporting the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) at home, in the community and in educational settings
  • Reframing goals and therapy
  • Looking at accommodations and supports to integrate across a range of settings

Behaviour and Regulation

This workshop is available to both parents and educators wanting to further their understanding and skills in supporting preschool and school aged children with behaviour and regulation challenges. Some of the topics we cover include:

  • Understanding behaviour and regulation through a neurodiverse affiming lens
  • Genuine connection with your child
  • Fostering positive behaviours
  • Your child’s toolkit to effective communication: a total communication approach
  • Understanding the cycle of escalation including what happens in each phase, how to respond at each stage and how to prevent a crisis

We’re all talking about screen time and its impact, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. With so much information out there, it can be hard to know if we’re making the right choices for our children. In this workshop we look at ways to  use technology in a beneficial way to support your child’s learning at home. We will focus on using digital tools and resources to enhance language, literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills in engaging and meaningful ways. This workshop will help parents navigate educational apps, online platforms, and screen time with confidence—turning digital experiences into valuable learning opportunities.
