Groups for students commencing years 3-6 & 7-12

About our written expression groups

These groups have been developed to help primary and high school aged students to learn about the macro structure (structure, paragraphing and analysis) and micro structure (use of complex language, spelling, punctuation, language techniques) of written texts. The group serves as a wonderful step up to our Oral Narrative groups. Tasks will also focus on strengthening your child’s ability to interpret questions and construct written responses with greater confidence. All activities will be tailored to the needs of the students in each group.

Who is this group best suited for?

  • Students commencing years 3-6 and 7-12 in the new year
  • Students with average language and literacy abilities, or mild difficulties
  • Students needing help with understanding and producing written texts
  • Students who have previously received therapy targeting their written expression
  • Students have attended our Oral Narrative groups and need further support developing their written narratives
  • Students interested in developing their creative writing skills
My child is having difficulty with constructing oral narratives, what should I do?
