Hills District Speech Therapy is excited to offer a new multidisciplinary group therapy service for primary and high-school aged children.

About our Get Set Group

We are now excited to announce Get Set SP and OT Group. This social participation program is all about building essential skills for everyday interactions, language development, self advocacy skills and increased independence with activities of daily living including meal preparation and safety, road safety, budgeting and money management. This is done through hands-on activities such as catching public transport, road safety, recipe making, shopping and cooking as well as theoretical learning to target all learning styles. Participants will learn vocabulary, practice navigating social situations, develop independence and work together and share space with others. With engaging lessons and real-life practice, we aim to help everyone communicate more effectively, build meaningful connections and participate in various daily living tasks.

Who can attend?

Our Get Set Group is developed for children and teens aged between 7 and 15 years of age. The groups have been specifically designed to support participants with expressive and/or receptive language delays (with and without an underlying diagnosis including autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability). Clients using augmentative and alternative forms of communication (AAC) are welcome to attend.

How much does it cost?

Upon registering your interest online, or through your therapist (for current clients), you will be provided with information on the specific costs associated with attending the group. Rebates are available for clients with private health insurance and NDIS funding. Please note that payments are upfront and non-refundable.
