About Participation Group
HDST Participation Groups have been designed for clients who require assistance to generalise their skills beyond the clinic environment. The group seeks to increase a client’s participation in the community by strengthening their understanding of language associated with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s). This includes areas such as Health, Cleaning, Finance, Cooking, Shopping and more! The group will also support a person’s ability to advocate for their rights at all times and to extend their social networks by engaging in conversations, both in person and online. This group is aimed at older teenagers and adults and provides an opportunity for attendees to share a meal and to socialise without explicit therapy.
Teenagers and young adults of all ages and presentations are welcome to attend this group and will be supported by a qualified Speech Pathologist and Allied Health Assistant (AHA).
