HDST’s newest group invites children to explore the fun of science whilst learning to follow instructions and socialise and work with same aged peers.

About our Mission STEMpossible Group

This group is an Occupational Therapy group that invites your child to explore, experiment, and problem-solve through a variety of exciting science and engineering activities. This workshop will strengthen your child’s ability to follow routines, develop problem-solving strategies and build social and play skills while engaging in fun, hands-on STEM experiments. Their confidence and curiosity will grow as they test ideas, work with peers, and celebrate their discoveries.

STEM is about curiosity, exploration, and learning through new experiences. Every experiment offers a chance to discover something valuable, whether the result is expected or surprising. At HDST, we will highlight the strengths of each child and encourage them to collaborate, think creatively and enjoy the process of discovery in a supportive environment.

Goals targeted in the group include:

  • Following routine
    • Initiate, persist and complete set tasks
    • Follow instructions
    • Transition between activities
    • Regulate energy levels
  • Social interactions and play
    • Turn taking and sharing
    • Participate in group activities and discussions
    • Cooperate with peers
    • Advocate for self
    • Request help
