Dear Valued HDST Clients,

Thank you for your ongoing engagement with services at Hills District Speech Therapy in 2023. We look forward to continuing to support your child and family.

As we head quickly towards the end of the year, we are starting to plan for the Christmas holiday break. We assume you will be continuing sessions until we close on Friday 22nd December 2023 and recommencing again from Thursday 4th January 2024 when the clinic reopens.

Please let us know if you have specific holidays planned so that we can adjust our schedules.

Further to this, the holidays are a great time to complete a range of activities that sometimes aren’t possible during the term. Please review the below options as an addition to your regular appointments.

Ongoing Therapy Appointments

You will continue to receive your regular appointment, however there may be more options for alternative times if this would be more convenient for you.

Review Assessments

This allows your clinician to determine the progress your child has made and to determine goals for 2024. This can be done with or without a comprehensive report.

Parent-Clinician Meetings

You can meet with your child’s clinician to discuss their progress, homework completion and use of general strategies at home to support their needs.

Group Therapy

Your child can participate in therapy in a group setting with other children targeting the same goals. We have a range of groups running in the holidays – please click here for more information.

Non-Face-to-Face Services

Non-face-to-face services reflect a range of services that can be delivered without your child physically present. These can include:

  • Individualised Service Plan (ISP). This outlines goals that should be targeted in therapy and can be shared with your child’s teacher to ensure a collaborative approach is being taken. This is then reviewed twice a year.
  • Home Program. Your clinician can write a home program containing activities for you to complete with your child during the holidays. You can then meet with the clinician at regular intervals (e.g. fortnightly) to discuss their progress or request assistance with completing each activity.
  • Meetings with Other Professionals. Your clinician can take the opportunity to meet with other professionals in your child’s life, including Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. This allows holistic intervention to be delivered in a multidisciplinary approach.

Please see our website for more information about our Non-Face-to-Face services.

Please reply via SMS or email clinicmanager@hdspeechtherapy.com.au by 31st October 2023 to confirm any holiday dates, otherwise we look forward to continuing services with you over December and January.

If you would like additional services as detailed above,  please also let us know so we can book those in for you.
